10 ARTS FOUNDATION’S ALEXANDRA SKIBA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The 10 ARTS Foundation has worked very closely with the family and friends of Alexandra Skiba to set up a significant tribute and honor scholarship program that will honor her life and legacy. Alexandra was a graduate of NYFA’s Acting for Film Program. The Alexandra Skiba Memorial Scholarship will support highly qualified NYFA students through the gift of special scholarships. Alexandra tragically passed away in 2020, however her talents will be remembered in the inspirational and motivating support given to other creative individuals who will benefit from the generosity of those who love her.
Alexandra Skiba attended NYFA’s Acting for Film program at Los Angeles campus in 2009. Alexandra’s instructors and classmates remember her as a very special woman who exemplified grace and who was exquisite both inside and out – it was impossible not to notice her on campus because she exuded happiness, beauty, and light.
Alexandra began acting in school plays at the age of 10, and her pursuit of the craft never diminished. As a young student at Cheltenham Ladies College, sister school to Eton College, she participated in a play at the Edinburgh Film Festival. Alexandra pursued acting with a vengeance and honed different acting styles at various conservatories before she attended NYFA. Before Alexandra’s tragic death in 2020, her career was bourgeoning, and she was getting roles both in television and films in Los Angeles. She also acted in numerous plays at Playhouse West.
Another passion – which then turned into a career for Alexandra – was her pursuit of promoting products and companies that convey health and wellness as a lifestyle. She became a successful social media entrepreneur and influencer, and on her Instagram profile Alexandra was sponsored by more than seven companies that promote organic clean healthy living and lifestyles.
In an interview shortly before her passing, Alexandra passionately declared, “My name is my brand. Alexandra Skiba is who I am, and I am my own brand of fun creative sexy and girl next door fun. I take great pride in creating beautiful content for my sponsors on IG and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all my followers to take care of their health. I am driven and determined and will never give up until I achieve what I want. What sets me apart from the crowd I believe is being true to who I am and never straying from my real authentic self, never hiding how I feel and what I am truly passionate about. I’m a leader and have always had the ability to influence others for good and I use my influence and magnetic pull and power for the forces of good in this world.”
Alexandra’s “authentic self” will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family has established the Alexandra Skiba Memorial Scholarship, which is a dedicated memorial scholarship created for Alexandra after her unexpected passing on March 19, 2020. The scholarship is being done in partnership with the New York Film Academy and the 10 ARTS Foundation. Scholarships are to support students that are “next-generation of storytellers” attending NYFA.
